At Omnitracs, we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees, their families, our customers, and our communities as we confront the unprecedented challenges that have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. Ensuring our employees stay healthy and safe ensures we are there to support our customers — customers who are delivering the fresh food and much-needed products to re-stock grocery stores; customers who are delivering critical medicines to those who need them most, faster than ever; customers who continue to deliver the raw goods needed to keep our economy going during these uncertain times.

Omnitracs is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis by working closely with federal regulators, caring for our employees, and ensuring we can continue to support the vitally critical transportation industry. We are working tirelessly to ensure we are doing all we can to anticipate and address potential issues that would adversely affect our employees, our customers, and our communities.

And while we are balancing many priorities during this time, we are focused on two critical areas:

1. Ensuring our employees are best able to protect their health and the health of others

2. Continuing to deliver solutions to our customers that allow them to deliver goods and products where they are needed in an efficient, secure, and safe manner

Ensuring the Safety of our Employees and their Families

For our employees, we are taking decisive action to offer the flexibility and support they need during this challenging time, including:

  • Immediately informing our employees of any reported exposures in our offices in accordance with guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
  • Moving all employees to a telework and remote support model in early March 2020, prior to reaching 1,000 cases in the U.S., while continuing to seamlessly support the needs of our customers
  • Strengthening our IT infrastructure to enable a virtual workforce
  • Quickly adjusting our company policies in response to this extraordinary situation, including creating flexible work schedules
  • Providing timely and comprehensive local information and guidance, as well as telemedicine resources and other online services
  • Offering strategies for managing stress and coping with the challenges of this pandemic
  • Creating virtual opportunities for employee engagement and support
  • Promoting our company match program for employees wishing to support non-profit organizations in their communities

Ensuring the Safety of our Customers and our Communities

To ensure the safety of our customers, all Omnitracs employees are being asked to follow the recommended guidelines from the CDC, including physical distancing, when conducting meetings — both within and outside of our offices — to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Those measures include:

  • Ensuring that our employees are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 as set forth by the CDC, including:
    • Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; or, at least two of these symptoms: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, a new loss of taste or smell
  • Ensuring that our employees have not come into recent contact with anyone known to have COVID-19-like symptoms
  • Asking that our employees practice recommended social distancing, including:
    • Keeping a distance of at least six feet apart (regrettably, to include refraining from shaking hands)
    • wearing a cloth face-covering if requested by you or your organization

Additionally, Omnitracs is taking the following measures to ensure our offices are safe:

  • Routinely cleaning or disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (doorknobs, badges, keyboards, counters, and other surfaces)
  • Routinely disinfecting reusable supplies and equipment
  • Providing routine environmental cleaning
  • Arranging common areas and staggering break schedules to allow maximum social distancing
  • Disinfecting keypads near unmanned entrances and exits on a regular basis
  • Complying with Health Department standards by stocking communal areas with hand-wash/sanitation supplies in addition to wipes and other materials
  • Encouraging employees to clean and disinfect their own workspace throughout the day
  • Reorganizing employee workspaces to allow for six (6) feet of distancing

I hope the above-outlined measures will help you feel safe and comfortable when visiting our offices.

Thank you,

Greg Nelson
